The Mathematical Society of Serbia (MSS), with the support of the European Organization of Researchers in Mathematical Education (ERME), organizes a scientific meeting to be held 10 – 11. 05. 2019. in Belgrade, Serbia.
The topic of the meeting is Research in Mathematical Education. A full-day workshop will be held within the framework of the Quantitative Methods of Mathematical Education Research.
The Conference deliberations will be on the following themes:
- Topics in contemporary research in mathematics education
- How to use lessons from history and research in educational practice
- Research methods in mathematics education
Plenary speakers
We have invited three plenary speakers:
- Prof. Dr. Jarmila Novotna, Prague, Czech Republic, Professor of the Charles University, Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Education
- Dr Patrick Barmby, United Kingdom, Head of the Research in “No More Marking”
- Prof. Dr. Snezana Lawrence, Cambridge, United Kingdom, Senior lecturer at the Anglia Ruskin University
The meeting is intended for experts in the field of mathematics education as well as for students of master and doctoral studies. We invite you to actively take part in the meeting. Registration template for participation in the meeting is on the registration template (Annex 1). It should be sent in electronic form to e-mail address conference.dms@gmail.com. Registration deadline is March, 1st 2019. It is not necessary to send a paper to register for the conference. The submission deadline for the papers is April 1st 2019. The book of accepted Abstracts will be published on the website of the MSS. The selected group of reviewed papers will be published in a thematic monograph in English or in one of the issues of journals The Teaching Mathematics or Nastava matematike during 2019 (regular or thematic issues). Submitted works, by scope and structure, should be aligned with the APA Instruction (http://www.apastyle.org/learn/tutorials/basicstutorial.aspx). Use the template as a whole to create the paper (Annex 2).
The language of the conference is English.
Registration fee is 10 000 RSD or EUR 100 for foreign currency payments. Registration fee for students is 5 000 RSD or 50 euros. Travel and accommodation expenses are paid by participants.
